  • The Lackawanna State Park swimming pool will continue 7 day a week operations through August 20th. After August 20th the pool will be open on the following days:

    • Saturday August 26th & Sunday August 27th
    • Saturday September 2nd, Sunday September 3rd, & Monday September 4th (Labor Day)
    • After September 4th the pool will be closed for the season.

    Operating hours will continue to be 11am-7pm (splash pad: 11am-5pm) weather permitting. Cost is $5 entrance fee and children under 42" are free. Please call (570) 945-3239 for additional information.

  • Effective April 14,2017 all trails area open for all users for Lackawanna State Park/Countryside Conservancy trail system. The majority of trails are sufficiently firm for responsible riding.

  • Contrary to the information on Google, Pennsylvania state parks are open every day of the year. Day use areas close at dusk. Park offices are open specific hours. Pools, beaches, and campgrounds are open specific seasons.

Park Description

The 1,445-acre Lackawanna State Park is in northeastern Pennsylvania, ten miles north of Scranton. The centerpiece of the park, the 198-acre Lackawanna Lake, is surrounded by picnic areas and multi-use trails winding through forest. Boating, camping, fishing, biking and swimming are popular recreation activities.
