Park Alerts ( 2 Alerts )

  • NEW FOR 2017: Poe Valley will be participating in the Smoke Free Beach Program effective May 1, 2017. Smoking is prohibited on the sand portion of the beach and in the swimming area. For visitors who smoke and still want to use this beach, two designated areas adjacent to the beach are provided. The restriction includes cigarettes, pipes, cigars, e-cigarettes or other handheld, lighted smoking devices. The goal of this program is to improve the air quality for park visitors at and around the beach swimming area, in addition to reducing the amount of cigarette litter in this area.

  • Contrary to the information on Google, Pennsylvania state parks are open every day of the year. Day use areas close at dusk. Park offices are open specific hours. Pools, beaches, and campgrounds are open specific seasons.

Park Description

Poe Paddy State Park is located at the confluence of Big Poe Creek and Penns Creek, a trout angler’s paradise featuring the nationally recognized green drake mayfly hatch in June. Hikers also walk Mid State Trail through the 250-foot long Paddy Mountain Railroad Tunnel.
