Park Alerts ( 3 Alerts )

  • ***Hiking Trails at Leonard Harrison and Colton Point State Parks to closeNov 23: With recent snowfall and the forecast for more freezing temperatures, ice will continue to build up on the trails and they become very hazardous. All trails will be closed at Leonard Harrison (the east rim) and the Turkey Path at Colton Point (the west rim) will also be closed for the winter season. Typically it's at least early April before the conditions allow the trails to reopen.

For other seasonal hiking opportunities, please check out Hills Creek State Parkor the many miles of trails on the Tioga State Forest that remain open year ‘round.***

  • Contrary to the information on Google, Pennsylvania state parks are open every day of the year. Day use areas close at dusk. Park offices are open specific hours. Pools, beaches, and campgrounds are open specific seasons.
  • *** The Turkey Path and Overlook trails at Leonard Harrison State Park and Colton Point State Park will be closed during the winter months from the Wednesday before Thanksgiving to the third Friday in April.***
